Keven R. Hempel

Rising Young Leaders President

Mr. Keven Hempel has 17 years of experience in the construction industry and has a passion for writing and technology. He is the founder of True North Services Inc. and is Co-Owner of the Tastes Of The Neighborhood Food Tour.

Mr. Hempel has built trusting and long-standing relationships with his clients and is constantly researching mindfulness and the emotional connection with future product development, as well as what and how technology is to be used in our ever-changing world.

He is not only the board president of the Rising Young Leaders but also Vice President of the Livermore Valley Education Foundation as he is truly dedicated to the continued success of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District students as well as education for all students.

His past presentation include:

    • Several large scale project packages throughout Northern California
    • He was the chosen first place at the Las Positas College 2013 “Shark Tank Incubator session” with “Invention Most Likely To Succeed”
    • Presented at the CACM Ignite session in 2014
    • Presented the final project process for The Housing Industry Foundation in 2012 which is a non profit organization for domestic violence home rehabilitation projects
  • Presented in 2016 “Managing Your Time Before Your Time Manages You!” which highlighted emotional intelligence, time management with technology, and work/life balance.

Mr. Hempel has most recently been published in the California Hotel & Lodging Association quarterly magazine, CACM Vision Magazine winter of 2015, and was just recently published in the summer and winter 2016 version of The CAI Communicator and can be scene in and our downtown Livermore meeting with local business owners.

James Abdulla

Rising Young Leaders Vice President

James Abdulla grew up around the geotech engineering, investing and real estate industries, where his father taught him about developing, buying and selling properties. Together they have formed a real estate investment company and a site development company to coincide with the family engineering firm. He was born in Guyana, South America (English speaking), and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Outside work, James enjoys family time, savory cooking, working out, playing basketball and football with his son, and volunteer coaching. Family and friends would say he’s generous, articulate, organized, loyal, punctual, ambitious and trustworthy.

Law Office of Spojmie Nasiri – Principal Attorney

Spojmie is a first generation immigration attorney. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis and her Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University, School of Law. Spojmie is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She currently practices immigration law exclusively and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

In addition to her practice, Mrs. Nasiri served as a pro bono attorney with the Immigration Law Clinic at the University of California, Davis where she provided individual representation, pro bono referrals, and pro se materials to detained immigrants. Mrs. Nasiri was also an avid volunteer at the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic at Stanford University and provides legal services to the Afghan community throughout the United States and worldwide. Spojmie is an active member of several professional associations.

Spojmie has resided in Pleasanton, CA for the last five years with her husband and three children, ages 11, 12 and 13. One of Spojmie’s favorite things to do is to camp with her family at Lake Tahoe during the summer.


Rising Young Leaders Secretary

Rising Young Leaders’ Secretary, Christina Morales, was born in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of nine children, on August 10, 1970. In 2004, Morales earned a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of San Francisco and moved to Worcester Massachusetts where she volunteered for a not-for-profit organization that works with the underserved neighborhood of Central Worcester, Massachusetts.

Afterward, she got married and moved to Somerville, Massachusetts and was recruited by an organization to work as an office assistant and aide at an Adult Day Center.

She later moved back to California with her husband, after he earned his PhD from Harvard and was hired at Sandia National Laboratories. They have two children, 14 and 11 years old, and she works as a substitute for the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.
